Bharti Airtel has announced its VoLTE (voice over LTE) Beta program where testers can try the telecom operator’s VoLTE services and give feedback on the same. The company will be offering free data up to 30GB to VoLTE Beta testers. Airtel’s VoLTE Beta program is now available in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa, Assam, Kerala, Bihar, and Punjab. To participate, Airtel subscribers will need to make sure that are using a VoLTE-enabled smartphone and have a 4G SIM card. The VoLTE Beta program testers will have to also make sure that they upgrade OS software and have enabled VoLTE Switch.
Airtel lists some of the VoLTE Beta benefits like HD voice calls where conversations are claimed to be crystal clear as well as instant call connect where users can experience call connecting three times faster than a standard call. Airtel has also clearly mentioned that testers might have to face network fluctuations and they will have to share feedbacks regularly.
Here’s how to get 30GB free data from Airtel
Airtel promises up to 30GB free data to VoLTE Beta testers where they will be offered data in a phased manner.
The company will offer 10GB data when a tester downloads latest OS and enable VoLTE switch.
> The next 10GB quota will be added to the tester’s Airtel number when feedback is provided at the end of fourth week.
> Lastly, Airtel will credit another 10GB free data to the tester’s account when feedback is provided at the end of eighth week.
To check if your Airtel number qualifies for the VoLTE Beta tester program head to airtel.in/volte-circle and validate the eligibility of your number.
Notably, the free 30GB data from Airtel for participating in VoLTE Beta program will come with validty. The first 10GB data credited upon successful registering under VoLTE Beta program will valid for 28 days. The second 10GB data will be credited on providing feedback on VoLTE services at the end of week 4 of VoLTE and will be valid for 28 days. Another 10GB free data will be credited on providing feedback on VoLTE services at the end of week 8 of VoLTE with a valid for 28 days.
We tried registering from our Airtel number in Delhi/ NCR and received a pop-up that said, “Hi there! Airtel VoLTE is currently unavailable on your number. We will reach out to you when it is rolled out for you.”
Airtel subscribers in West Bengal, Orissa, Assam, Kerala, Bihar, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. Airtel VoLTE calls will be charged as per users existing voice plan or pack and would not consume any additional data.
To recall, Airtel’s VoLTE services are currently available only in Mumbai, Maharashtra (select regions), Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka, Chennai and West Bengal.
Earlier this month, Airtel launched its VoLTE services in Kolkata. Airtel claimed that wide 4G network coverage enables seamless connectivity on Airtel VoLTE and in case of non-availability of the 4G network, Airtel VoLTE calls will automatically fall back on the 3G/2G network to ensure that customers continue to stay connected at all times.
